Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) carries out many projects in the field of education and culture in cooperation with the authorities of Uzbekistan, due to the lack of qualified human resources and infrastructure experienced in various sectors in the large-scale reforms and breakthroughs initiated in Uzbekistan. In addition, YTB organizes commemoration programs for important figures who have left their mark in Uzbek history and literature.
Abdullah Kadir Symposium on the 125th Anniversary of His Birth
YTB, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Ankara Embassy of Uzbekistan on 14 March 2019, with the aim of increasing the recognition of the life and works of Abdullah Kadiri (1894-1938), who is considered the doyen of Uzbek literature and the founder of the modern Uzbek novel, in the country and to contribute positively to the cultural relations of the two countries. and TURKSOY in cooperation, “125. He organized a panel on “Abdullah Kadiri and the Uzbek Novel on the Anniversary of His Birth”.
YTB supported the program titled “My Place in the Future Relations of Two Sister States (Turkey and Uzbekistan) and Their Future Relations” in Konya on March 15-16, 2019 in order to increase the sharing of knowledge and experience among more than 40 Uzbekistani postgraduate students studying in Turkey. provided.
Training for doctors from Uzbekistan
Within the framework of the project supported by YTB on April 8-12, 2019, the “Turkish World Emergency Medicine Education” project was implemented with the Association of Medical Students on 14 March. In Uzbekistan, training was given to nurses, health officers and other health workers, especially doctors and medical school students, on emergency service organization, approach to critical patients in the emergency room, and disaster management.
Turkey Alumni Meeting
YTB held a Turkey Alumni meeting on 10 November 2019 in Tashkent with the participation of 70 Turkey Alumni from different cities of the country. YTB President Abdullah Eren addressed the graduates living in Uzbekistan in the program and stated that they will start working on the establishment of a Turkish Alumni Association in the country in the coming period.
Turkish World Fight Against Covid-19 Online Training
Within the framework of the project realized in September 2020, in cooperation with the Uzbekistan Strategy Development Center and YTB, Turkey’s experience in the fight against Covid-19 was transferred to fellow doctors in Uzbekistan with a training that lasted 2 days and 8 lessons.
Laparoscopic Surgery Course
In December 2020, the Laparoscopic Surgery Course online training program was organized in cooperation with YTB, TIKA, Islamic Development Bank, Health Sciences University and 14 March Medical Association. From the program; More than a thousand participants from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan benefited. On 13-14 February 2021, the “1st Turkic World Medical Students Workshop” was held in cooperation with YTB, Health Sciences University and 14 March Medical Students Association.
Turkish – Uzbek Theoretical and Practical Translation Training
20 participants from Uzbekistan within the framework of the program organized by YTB between 8-12 March 2021; Turkish-Uzbek sworn translators provided training on subjects such as consecutive interpretation, simultaneous translation, diplomatic text translation and story translation.
Material support to Turkology faculties
Sets containing 200 books each, prepared by YTB, were sent to the Oriental Institute, Uzbekistan National Library, Silk Road International Tourism University and Samarkand School of Foreign Languages.
Eurasia Youth School
A large number of Uzbek youth participated in the Eurasia Youth School program, which was organized with the aim of helping the university students from the sister community living in Eurasian countries to constitute the qualified human resource that their country needs and to contribute to the development of their country’s relations with Turkey in every field.
Turkish World Young Leaders Program
A total of 35 young people, who participated in the Eurasia Youth School project organized by YTB and were evaluated successfully, visited Turkey. In the program held on 22-29 August 2021; In addition to the tours organized to historical and cultural places in Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa, visits were made to the public institutions of the country. Within the framework of the program, most students were brought from Uzbekistan.
International Congress of Turkish World Educational Sciences
Turkish World Educational Sciences Congress was held between 24-26 November 2021 hosted by Gazi University with the support of YTB. 37 academicians from various regions of the Turkish World attended the congress.
Uzbekistan Youth Forum
Uzbekistan Youth Forum was held in Yıldız Technical University Congress Center on 18 December 2021 with the support of YTB and in cooperation with Uzbekistan Youth Affairs Agency and Uzbekistan Consulate General in Istanbul. In the Forum attended by 300 young people, quiz competitions and panels were organized and successful young people were rewarded. The Turkish World Young Academics Congress was organized by the Young Academics Union, hosted by the Presidential National Library Congress Center, between 24-26 December 2021 with the support of YTB. 7 academics from Uzbekistan participated in the program.
According to the 2020-2021 YÖK statistics, while the total number of Uzbekistani students studying in Turkey is 1547, as of 2022, 1,653 candidates from Uzbekistan applied for Turkey Scholarships. Since 1992, a total of 2,520 Uzbekistan students have been given the chance to receive higher education in the country with scholarships. Currently, 217 Uzbekistan international students are studying at various universities in the country within the scope of YTB’s Türkiye Scholarships program. The number of Uzbekistan students who graduated from higher education institutions in Turkey is close to 2,000.
