The creative writing workshop for children was organized by Suzan Polat in order to accelerate the children’s use of their creativity and develop their social intelligence by sharing and exchanging ideas individually and as a group, and to enable them to establish a one-to-one relationship with the literary world.

In the workshop, the children experienced an entertaining and instructive creation process by thinking, imagining and storytelling about the character – event – situation – place – object. He discovered fun ways to interact with literacy by writing a book through play and as the creator of a book. He experienced the excitement of meeting a book with the reader by actively experiencing the meeting of the book with the reader with the signing event held at the end of the workshop.

During the creative fairy tale workshop, while the children create their own fairy tale; He was introduced to a new fairy tale every week by the workshop leader (Suzan Polat) and guest storytellers with interactive and musical tale narration.

The tale of Bungi Bubu Skeleton Island, written by 5-year-old İpar Sarı and Tera Polili under the leadership of Suzan Polat, was made into a fairy tale by Suzan Polat. The tale was edited by Dr. Elif Kurt, Doctor of Turkish Education. psychologist and psychotherapist Ziliha Uluboy. The book was illustrated with the original drawings of the children participating in the workshop for the fairy tale.

WHO IS SUZAN POLAT, THE WORKSHOP EXECUTIVE?

Suzan Polat, a dramaturg and actress, was born in 1988 in Nicosia. He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Theater, Department of Acting at NEU Faculty of Performing Arts in 2010, and his master’s degree in Dramatic Writing Department of the same faculty in 2013.

She received creative drama and fairy tale therapy practitioner certificates from Uludağ University in 2017 as a Creative Drama Instructor. Since 2012, he has been working as an interactive storyteller in libraries affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and Culture. She published her fairy tale book called The Fellowship of the Forest in 2017.
